Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week (4 or 5 days)
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum

Requirements:

• Previous experience as a Nursery Manager or Deputy Manager
• Minimum Level 3 CACHE qualification in Early Years

About Our Setting:
We are a medium-sized nursery accommodating approximately 45 children daily. Our operating hours are from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM, 50 weeks per year, with closures for one week in August and one week in December. We pride ourselves on creating a nurturing environment that feels like a “home away from home,” prioritising personalised care for each child and their family. Our dedicated team consists of around 25 staff members.

Job Description:
Reporting directly to the nursery owner, the Nursery Manager will oversee the Deputy Manager, Room Leaders, Practitioners, and Apprentices.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Communicating effectively with staff, parents, and children.
• Maintaining adequate staffing levels and organizing training, supervisions, appraisals, and team meetings.
• Planning and managing the weekly staff rota.
• Overseeing children’s schedules and intake processes.
• Ensuring the planning and implementation of the EYFS curriculum.
• Providing clarity of responsibilities among management and staff while offering necessary support.
• Implementing safety protocols for staff and children, including conducting risk assessments and safeguarding practices.
• Preferably having training or experience as a SENDCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
• Understanding early years funding expansion (15-30 hours).
• Knowledge of safer recruitment practices.

Candidate Requirements:

• Must hold or be willing to obtain a valid enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
• Willingness to participate in necessary training.
• The nursery will cover the cost of the enhanced DBS application.
