Position: Senior Practice Accountant / Client Manager
Location: Reading
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 per annum
Work Type: Onsite during probation period, with hybrid option (2 days remote) after probation.

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Practice Accountant / Client Manager to join our team in Reading. The ideal candidate will be ACCA or ACA qualified with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in practice. This role includes managing a diverse client portfolio, ensuring compliance with FRS 102 and FRS 105 standards, and working with a range of accounting software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Portfolio Management: Oversee a varied portfolio of clients, providing high-quality accounting and advisory services.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements in line with FRS 102 and FRS 105 standards.
  • Tax Planning and Compliance: Handle tax planning and prepare returns using TaxCalc.
  • Software Utilization: Manage client accounts, bookkeeping, and reporting with Xero and QuickBooks.
  • Strategic Advisory: Offer clients strategic advice to support their business goals.
  • Quality and Timeliness: Ensure all work is accurate, timely, and meets quality standards.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior staff, guiding their professional development.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Keep up-to-date with laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Client Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships to ensure client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: ACCA or ACA qualified.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of post-qualification experience in an accounting practice.
  • Portfolio Management: Proven expertise in managing client portfolios.
  • Accounting Standards: Strong knowledge of FRS 102 and FRS 105.
  • Software Proficiency: Skilled in TaxCalc, Xero, and QuickBooks.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently.
  • Attention to Detail: High commitment to accuracy.
  • Team and Independent Work: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
