Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 per annum + Study support

The Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our accounting functions, with a focus on preparing year-end accounts. This position is ideal for a part-qualified accountant looking to advance their career in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts for various clients, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Support the accounts team with daily bookkeeping tasks, including processing invoices and managing accounts payable and receivable.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ensuring all transactions are recorded correctly.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and assist with month-end closing processes.
  • Collaborate with senior staff to gather information and insights needed for financial reporting.
  • Respond to client queries and provide support in financial matters.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of accounting processes and controls to enhance efficiency.
  • Assist with tax compliance tasks, including the preparation of VAT returns and other relevant documentation.
  • Continuously improve your knowledge of accounting principles and practices through ongoing professional development.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, AAT, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in an accounts assistant role or similar position.
  • Strong knowledge of year-end accounts preparation and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks) and MS Office, particularly Excel.

  • Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • A willingness to learn and develop within the role.
