The Role

In this position, you’ll work closely with the team to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of audit and accountancy services. Key responsibilities include:

  • Client Portfolio Management: Oversee and develop a portfolio of clients, fostering strong relationships, understanding their needs, tracking work-in-progress against budgets and fees, managing billing, and keeping the client partner informed on progress and challenges.
  • Assignment Planning and Completion: Plan assignments efficiently to meet budget requirements and maximize fee recoverability, communicating expectations clearly to the team. Ensure all work is thoroughly completed before review by partners.
  • Team Leadership: Assign tasks to team members and conduct regular work reviews to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Client Interaction: Engage directly with clients alongside the senior audit team, keeping them updated on project status.

Essential Skills and Experience

You should be highly organized, able to meet deadlines, and capable of engaging effectively with clients. Ideal qualifications include:

  • Experience: At least 6 years in accountancy practice focused on audit and/or accounts.
  • Qualifications: ACA or ACCA qualified.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with IT tools, including Excel, CCH Accounts Production, CCH Audit Automation, Outlook, and practice management software.
  • Professional Development: Commitment to CPD in line with professional requirements.
  • High Standards: Consistently uphold professional standards in conduct and practice.
  • Industry Insight: Apply knowledge of the industry, sectors, and core clients to identify additional services that benefit clients.
  • Financial Awareness: Actively support senior management in achieving financial targets, keeping partners and clients informed of project budgets and potential challenges.
  • Client Solutions: Proactively develop solutions that address client needs and exceed expectations where possible.
