The Role

In this role, you’ll play a key part in delivering accurate and timely audit and accountancy services. Core responsibilities include:

  • Client Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of clients, building strong relationships, understanding their requirements, tracking progress against budgets and fees, handling billing, and keeping partners informed on project updates and any arising issues.
  • Audit Planning and Execution: Plan and conduct audits efficiently to meet budget requirements, ensure fee recoverability, and communicate clearly with the team. Ensure assignments are complete and audit standards are upheld before final review by partners.
  • Team Support: Provide guidance to junior team members, allocate tasks, and review work to maintain high compliance and quality standards.
  • Client Communication: Work directly with clients, keeping them updated on project progress and addressing any questions or concerns promptly.

Essential Skills and Experience

We’re looking for someone who is organized, deadline-driven, and client-focused. Ideal qualifications include:

  • Experience: A minimum of 4-6 years in accountancy practice, with a strong focus on audit.
  • Qualifications: ACCA qualified.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in IT tools such as Excel, CCH Accounts Production, CCH Audit Automation, Outlook, and other relevant practice management software.
  • Professional Development: Commitment to ongoing CPD to maintain industry knowledge and skill.
  • Attention to Detail: High standards of accuracy and compliance in audit work.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of industry, client sectors, and the ability to identify additional services to support client needs.
  • Financial Awareness: Awareness of financial targets and the ability to assist management in meeting budgets and client expectations.
  • Solution-Oriented: Proactively identify and suggest solutions to exceed client expectations where possible.
