As our new Payroll Manager, you will play a key role in a dedicated Payroll team, providing expert advice to clients while mentoring and developing team members. This fast-paced and rewarding position offers an exciting opportunity with a forward-thinking firm.
In this role, you will:
- Oversee the management and performance of the Payroll Team.
- Manage a portfolio of medium to large client payrolls, handling day-to-day tasks such as RTI submissions, year-end processing, and auto-enrolment.
- Prepare weekly and monthly payrolls, including data entry, reconciliations, payslip generation, and client reporting.
- Provide technical support on payroll, PAYE, and basic employment matters.
- Liaise with third parties, including HMRC and pension providers, on behalf of clients.
- Maintain regular communication with clients through phone calls and face-to-face meetings.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with internal and external contacts.
About You: You are seeking a new challenge and bring:
- Proven experience in leading and managing a payroll team, ideally in a bureau or accountancy practice setting.
- Strong efficiency and a track record of managing end-to-end payrolls, including statutory calculations, RTI, year-end, and complex payrolls.
- Excellent, up-to-date knowledge of payroll regulations.
- Strong communication skills, enabling you to build relationships with clients and effectively resolve queries with HMRC.
- Proficiency in Iris Star payroll software.
