SEMI SENIOR / SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are an AAT Licensed Accountancy Firm based in Cannock, supporting a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses across a range of industries. Known for our personal approach and high-quality service, we are now seeking a Semi-Senior or Senior Accountant to join our friendly and professional team.


This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is AAT part-qualified or fully MAAT-qualified, with experience in a practice environment. You’ll take responsibility for a range of accounting tasks, working closely with clients and providing hands-on support.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
  • Perform bookkeeping duties using cloud software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements
  • Assist with payroll processing and auto-enrolment duties
  • Support the wider team with day-to-day client accounting needs
  • Maintain accurate financial records and client files
  • Liaise with clients to request information and resolve queries in a professional manner
  • Support senior accountants with ad hoc tasks and projects

REQUIREMENTS

  • AAT part-qualified or fully MAAT-qualified
  • Previous experience in an accountancy practice is essential
  • Strong knowledge of Xero and cloud-based systems
  • Confident communicator with excellent organisational skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

SALARY & LOCATION

  • Cannock, Staffordshire
  • Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm
  • Salary £28,000 – £38,000 per annum
  • Onsite based – No hybrid option
