As an Indirect Tax (VAT) Manager, you will take a leading role within the VAT team, overseeing both compliance and advisory work across a diverse client portfolio. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced tax professional to step into a senior position, offering the chance to develop your expertise further and contribute to the growth of a dynamic, supportive practice.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee VAT compliance for a broad and varied client portfolio
  • Provide clear, practical, and commercially focused VAT advice, including on complex matters and transactions
  • Advise on specialist areas such as cross-border VAT, partial exemption, land and property
  • Liaise with HMRC on behalf of clients, including during audits and in resolving disputes
  • Support business development activities, including assisting with client onboarding and relationship management
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering knowledge-sharing and technical development
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UK and international VAT legislation to ensure ongoing compliance and best practice

REQUIREMENTS

  • CTA | ACA or ACCA qualified (or at finalist level)
  • At least 7 years’ experience in a role focused on indirect tax, preferably within a UK accountancy practice
  • In-depth understanding of UK VAT legislation, including cross-border VAT complexities
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines in a dynamic, client-focused environment
  • Collaborative team player with the confidence to work independently when needed

SALARY & LOCATION

  • Competitive salary: £50,000 – £70,000 per annum
